Ok so for all of you nursing mamas out there, I will start by saying, you are welcome.  These milk savers are the best invention and a must have for every nursing mom.  This is my second baby and I was gifted these milk savers from my cleaning lady.  At first, I did not think they could be that different but I was completely wrong.  I cannot tell you how much milk I have collected in the past few weeks from simply placing this milk saver in my tank.

I recently ordered the Milkies Milk Saver from Amazon and it was HUGE and did not fit in my nursing tank or bra.  It was not comfortable and really seemed a bit awkward.  I tried to make it work because I truly despise the pump but ended up sending it back.  They sell it at BuyBuyBaby and you can find it online.  I personally found it to be too large and awkward.

There are also many companies such as Advent and Medela that sell shields or shells to protect your nipples.  They are definitely useful when they are sore or your nipples are cracked.  You may get some milk that leaks when you let down but their purpose is to protect the nipple or help your child’s latch.  I actually ordered these from Advent as well but they were still bigger than I would like and did not feel as natural in my tank.  I returned them as well.

So enter these nursing cups or milk savers.  They are originally from Equador and have completely changed the way I feel about storing milk.  We all need to have some milk for a stash.  Whether it’s for a date night or an emergency, we all need some milk in the freezer but who has the time or desire to sit at the pump (unless you have to?).  Not me.  I swore I would never pump again after my first.  I was so stressed about the pump!

These nursing cups fit right inside a nursing tank or bra and collect your let down and leakage while you feed.  You simply place a cup in the side you are not feeding and it collects the milk.  You can put on the other side if you switch sides to feed.  When you are done feeding, simply pour into a milk storage bag (there is a small spout at the top) and save. I have collected between 4-5 ounces a day simply from placing this milk saver in my tank.  I only use these at home because it’s more convenient but they could easily be placed in your bag on the run.

They are washable and can be sterilized in a steamer or even placed on the top rack of the dishwasher.

Truly a GIFT for nursing mamas. Who knew collecting milk could be so easy?  One less thing to think about too 🙂

I have looked online everywhere and cannot fit anything comparable to these milk saver cups.  I have a box ordered and they will be here soon but I expect to sell out from the waitlist alone.  These would also be a great gift for any mom to be 🙂

If you want first dibs on when they arrive to place your order, grab a spot on the waitlist at shiranelson.com/milksavers or using the form below.
