Why me? As an entreprenuer it is easy to get caught in the mind trap of why me? You go to write a post and then before you press publish, you think “no one will read it.” Or you spend hours creating an e book and before you place the buy button on your site, you think “no one will buy it.”
More often than not, we have this idea or this passion inside and we do nothing about it.
Because of none other than…self doubt. Self doubt led by fear and a pile of crap we tell ourselves about the million reasons why it won’t work.
The constant thoughts of WHY ME creep into our heads leaving us paralyzed. We do nothing about it. On with our life.
But in the back of our minds, that “thing” is always there. When you have a true passion for something, you know. You don’t stop thinking about it, it’s always there.
But what if you could change the WHY ME around to WHY NOT YOU?
Seriously, why NOT you?
If you have information or knowledge or a passion about something, isn’t a disservice to not share it?
If you know a way to help people, aren’t you supposed to share that information regardless of how many followers you have or whether or not you have a custom built website?
If I know moms are struggling to figure out their passion and create an online business, isn’t it my job to help them create a life and business they love? Shouldn’t I create a coaching program to help them do this if I have the skills and experience? Of course I should.
So many times we think, well my ideas are already being said or I’m not “big”enough yet so no one will care. We often think we need a pile of certifications and a string of letters after our name to help people. Definitely not the case.
Obviously they lend credibility but they don’t lead to action. An action is what leads to making a change and creating a business.
Running a business is about more than making money. It goes far beyond whether you can make 6 figures. Sure that is what we often see because who doesn’t want to make money, but deep down the WHY behind your business has to be bigger. It has to come from a bigger place.
Self doubt is a limitation we place on ourselves. It comes from within. When we allow our mind to takeover and tell us we aren’t good enough, we end up doing nothing. And by doing nothing, we remain stagnant.
So why not you?
I am going to leave you with this quote from Marianne Williamson…
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
